I had to do this. I owe it to the people. More importantly, I owe it to myself.
Since finishing Complex People, I have felt the need to create a space for me, and others, who are patient enough to pursue the context and layered nuance of our social and cultural world. I often try to use social media in short, polished blurbs to help people understand society for what it really is, but, unfortunately, that method has left me unfulfilled. My mind always races (and rages) with ideas and these thoughts deserve documentation. I see fresh, pure, and raw ideas as a form of abstract power that have infinite potential to influence change. Life is complex but when we contextualize our world it gives power to people who choose to listen, reflect and then act in that new understanding.
This is what I hope to create, provide, and share in this space.
The Doctor is in.
Dr.Howard has hit the nail directly on the head.It is true that everyone should express their feelings about the flag and the meaning it carries when the National Anthem is played. For Kaepernick,he has the right to protest if he thinks that there is no total freedom and equality in America as the flag and the national anthem state. No one should criticize him and the ones who do that are the ones who are not being loyal to the freedom of expression portrayed in the words of the national anthem and the flag.
I appreciate your perspective. Thanks for sharing.
